A Legacy of Collaboration and Innovation
Over the years, we’ve proudly collaborated with remarkable teams, supporting extraordinary systems that push the boundaries of technology. One standout project, designed by our talented partners at Stratin Engineering in Los Angeles, showcases this innovation. They created a cutting-edge feature that now anchors Kennedy Space Center’s newest attraction, Gateway: The Deep Space Launch Complex.
Introducing the Cosmic Wayfinder
As soon as guests step into The Gateway, six high-mounted pointers (known as the "Cosmic Wayfinder) immediately captivate their attention. These pointers actively track space objects in real-time, transforming a static display into an engaging experience. The Cosmic Wayfinder tracks celestial objects like planets, the International Space Station (ISS), satellites, and even a floating Tesla car. Each pointer, equipped with integrated LED screens, dynamically displays detailed information about the objects they track. This innovative feature draws visitors in and brings the vastness of space closer to home.
A Journey Through Space and Time
Seeing this installation in person is a humbling experience, vividly reminding visitors of their place in the universe. The Cosmic Wayfinder serves as more than just an attraction. it’s an educational tool that brings the wonders of space to life. Visitors of all ages can appreciate the dynamic nature of our planet and the cosmos.
After completing the installation, Stratin Engineering and Kennedy Space Center enlisted 42 Audio Visual to ensure the system’s flawless operation. We actively provide ongoing support and service for the six pointers and their complex backend systems. These systems include custom motors, high-resolution LED screens, replay and management software, and advanced tracking software developed by NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL). Additionally, our support includes regular annual visits, timely software updates, and emergency assistance as needed.
A Must-See Experience at Kennedy Space Center
This unique installation, blending cutting-edge technology with educational value, is a must-see for anyone visiting Kennedy Space Center. It stands as a testament to the innovation and collaboration that drive our work. So, don’t miss the chance to explore this and other incredible exhibits at Gateway: The Deep Space Launch Complex!

Burns & McDonnell, EPIC LED Video Wall
Designing the Ultimate 360 EPIC LED Video Wall Room
Our friends at Burns & McDonnell, the world’s top engineering firm, tasked us with designing and building an EPIC, State-of-the-art 360 LED video wall room. Consequently, this state-of-the-art space allows them to preview all their 3D CAD files and engineering projects physically. As a result, it provides an immersive experience that significantly enhances collaboration with their teams and clients.
Enhancing Collaboration Beyond VR
Although many companies use VR for CAD file walkthroughs, VR often falls short regarding real-time discussion. Specifically, it lacks the capability for team members to see where others are focusing or pointing. Therefore, our 360 LED video wall bridges this gap by allowing everyone in the room to view and discuss the designs simultaneously, creating a more interactive and engaging experience. Our 360 LED video wall allows everyone to experience their out-of-this-world design but also shows the client why Burns & McDonnell is simply the best engineering firm in the world. They are always pushing the edge of technology to set the standard within their industry.
Proud Partnership with Burns & McDonnell
We are genuinely thrilled to be Burns & McDonnell’s official LED video wall partner. Notably, witnessing their innovative launch pad designs and experiencing the sensation of being 40 stories high up is truly extraordinary. This project not only highlights their groundbreaking designs but also underscores why Burns & McDonnell remains a leader in engineering excellence.
