Our founder Josh is a dedicated "burner" who has been part of many themed camps at Burning Man. Held in Black Rock City, Nevada, the festival brings together over 70,000 people in a temporary city filled with art, music, and exploration.
To give something special to his camp, Josh teamed up with the incredibly talented Evan Miga to bring a one-of-a-kind idea to life — the Heart Beacon. At night, the playa transforms into a dazzling wonderland of glowing art cars and illuminated installations. It's a feast for the eyes, but it can also be overwhelming. That's why a beacon like this is essential for finding your way back.
Burning Man is all about adventure, creativity, and exploration. After a day of biking, dancing, and discovering amazing art, it can be tough to locate your camp. Since there are no phones or GPS, landmarks are key. This is where the Heart Beacon shines — literally.
We designed the beating heart to symbolize following your heart, knowing it will always lead you home. The high-mounted beacon is bright and visible from afar, with a programmable LED system that cycles through stunning color combinations — from deep reds and pinks to cool blues and full RGB rainbows. Even in the vast playa, this beacon stands tall and bright.

The heart-shaped beacon was CNC-routed and hand-assembled, with concentric layers of individually addressable LEDs creating a mesmerizing nested glow effect. Every component was engineered to withstand desert conditions — extreme heat, dust storms, and high winds.
Collaborating with artist Evan Miga (Stache Lightning), we combined precision fabrication with artistic vision. The result is a sculpture that's equal parts functional wayfinding tool and emotional art piece.
